We live in Hong Kong for a year beginning immediately after the "handover" to China in 1997. I teach at the Chinese University of Hong Kong while on sabbatical from Cornell.
I contemplate turning 47 in May, 1999.

We vacation in California, and watch the Mets play the Padres in San Diego, 1999.
We fly to Itlay to celebrate the millennium computer scare, while I teach in Cornell's Rome program for the Spring term; Rob and Jennie attend an international school there, 2000.
As a Fulbright Senior Scholar, I conduct a 2-week structures workshop in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Aug, 2001.
I return to Brooklyn's Coney Island, and take a few swings at the batting cage, 2002.
